Blackout is the fifth studio album by the controversial pop singer Britney Spears. This is the first album of Britney Spears that doesnt have any promotion prior to its release. But the album ranked no.50 by Rolling Stone in its annual publication of top 50 albums of 2007.

Blackout was released on October 30, 2007 under Jive Records. The album became no.1 in several countries including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Europe, Ireland, Japan, and in Mexico. The first single in the album "Gimme More" reached no.3 on the U.S. Chart and the single became popular on the radio stations. The second single "Pieces of Me" hit no.22 on the U.K. Chart. The song was written by Swedish songwriters Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg. The song became an instant favorite by the reviewers. Britney Spears won several awards for her album and got positive reviews by her fans.
