About
LaPret formerly Lil'Kilah, Al-Baby, Kie'Arra "Mizz Redz" Pretlow, Mitchell "Big Mitch" Brown, and KeVonna "Misift" Graves were the original members of Young Crowd. In late-2004 Graves a vocalist left the group and was replaced by Tranica "Babee Phat" Ford, after she and Al-Baby had several differences. The group was briefly signed to Sony Urban Music in early-2004, and was booted from the label in late-2004, as a result the group would eventually disband in 2005.
The gimmick behind the group formed by Edward Hamer and their 2004 Young Crowd EP under Sony Urban Music was "what if you put together five teenagers from five different walks of life, from the same area". Many went for it, but in late-2004 Bow Wow began recording his new album Wanted and Sony Urban Music gave the group the boot, so that the label could better invest in his project.
