About
Yes was formed in 1968 by the lead vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire.
Jon is the former member of The Warriors. He also became the member of the group Gun. Chris was a former member of the band The Syn. When The Syn was disbanded, Chris spent his time learning a bass technique.
In 1968, Chris met Jon. The two jive instantly. Chris joins the band called Mabel's Green Toy Shop with Olive Darley and Jon joins them. They recruited Bill Bruford. They also included Peter Banks. They changed their name into Yes.
On August 4, 1968, the band played their first performance at East Mersey Youth Campus in England. In 1969, Yes released their first album. A year later, they had released their second album. They continue performing and releasing albums until 1981.
In 1981, they decided to parted ways. In 1982, Chris and Alan formed a new group Cinema. Joining them was Trevor Rabin, former member of the band Rabbit. They also recruited Yes original organist, Tony Kaye.
In 1983, Chris invited Jon to be their vocals, resulting to the formation of Yes. They released their album, 90125 since the reformation.
Up to this time, the band is still active. They are still performing on some gigs and concerts.
