World Clique was released on August, 1990 under Elektra records. The album ranked no.20 on the U.S. Chart and no.14 on the U.K. Chart. The first single in the album "Groove Is in the Heart" hit no.1 on the U.S. Club chart and no.2 on the UK singles chart. The song became a big hit in nightclubs which became no.1 on the U.S. The second single "What Is Love?" peaked no.1 on the U.S. Club chart.
