Willa Was Here was released on July 17, 2001 by Lava/Atlantic records. This album was a product after her original label MCA dropped her for this album's sexy image which in turn brought her to popularity.

The album contained the hit single "I Wanna Be Bad" which peaked at #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the second and last single released "Did Ya' Understand That". The album was certified platinum by RIAA.
