Will Young is an American singer that won the first season of Pop Idol. He was the Winner of the Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Artist. He is also the ambassador for Mood Foundation, a charity which aims to build a database of private therapists and alternative therapies to treat various types of depressive conditions.

Pop Idol winner Will Young (William Robert Young) was born on January 20, 1979 in Berkshire, England. He has a fraternal brother Rupert. A Politics major in Exeter University where he began singing and modeling occasionally. When he graduated, Will moved to Hungerford, Berks in London where he attended Arts Educational School majoring in musical theater.
On February 9, 2002, Will Young won at U.K.’s reality tv show, Pop Idol, which is an equivalent of American Idol in the U.S. He got 4.6 million votes in his win. In February 25, 2002, he released his debut single “Anything Is Possible/Evergreen”. It was a huge hit in the UK. Later that year, his debut album, From Now On, was released followed by Friday’s Child (2003), Keen On (2005) and Let It Go (2008).
