Administrators are WikiGuides who have "sysop rights". WikiMusicGuide policy is to grant this access to anyone who is an active contributor and is a trusted member of the community. The community look to administrators to perform essential housekeeping chores, like watching the deletion debates and carrying out the community consensus, keeping an eye on new and changed articles to delete vandalism, and meeting user requests for help.

Restricted features

Administrators have access to the following restricted features.

• Edit the Main Page, and other protected pages.
• Protect and unprotect pages.
• Delete pages and their history. See WikiMusicGuide Deletion policy.
• Restore deleted pages and their history.
• Permanently delete images.
• Revert pages quickly.
• Hide vandalism from Recent changes.
• Block or unblock IP addresses, IP ranges, and user accounts.
• Admins can edit the pages in the MediaWiki namespace.
• Admins can edit the CSS in the monobook stylesheet.

Becoming an administrator

If you would like sysop access, add your name to WikiMusicGuide Requests for adminship and a voting will take place by fellow editors and administrators. It is recommended that you write for WikiMusicGuide for a while before requesting administrator status. Other users will have to recognize you before they can agree on your promotion.

Administrators can be removed or placed on administrative probation if they abuse their powers.
