About

After being dropped by their previous label, Fountains Of Wayne comes back with a vengeance, a new label and a super hit. Welcome Interstate Managers was released in June 10, 2003 under indie company, S-Curve Records.

This album features the only Top 40 hit of the band Stacy's Mom which were big in the radios, heard over and over again because of its fun beat and lyrics that would definitely put a smile in every listener's face. The music video that was also huge in television stars super sexy blonde Rachel Hunter as Stacy's Mom. The video tells a story about a teenage boy that has a crush on his girlfriend's mother. The scenes show the lyrics of the song and is absolutely a sing-along hit.

Other songs that deserves praise because of their uptempo beat and charming lyrics are Bright Future in Sales, Mexican Wine and Hackensack.

Reviews

  • If only I could give Fountains Of Wayne had a middle name, it would definitely be "goofy". Their style is purely focused on having fun, not putting too much pressure on the lyrics and having up-tempo beat. The album "Welcome Interstate Managers", though having only "Stacy's Mom" as its all-time hit, is for me a success as a whole because all of the tracks are great! Listening to it is like an hour just talking to the band and having fun.
