Webbie or Webster Gradney in real life was born on September 6, 1985 in Baton,Rouge, Louisiana. He started singing rap at the early age of 5; he became quite serious about the rhymes he had been playing around with. However, his high school life was a rather though since he had struggles, and he was prohibited to play his favorite sport--basketball since he got poor grades. This event in his life however led him to his music career.

When he was 15 years old, He then signed a recording contract under Trill Entertainment which teamed up Webbie with another Baton Rouge native, Lil' Bossie and released two independent albums entitled Ghetto Stories in 2003. The following year, he released Gangsta Musik which included the singles, "Gangsta Musik" and "Gimme Me That".

In the early 2005, Webbie finally broke into the mainstream with his hot singles,"Gimme Dat" and "Bad Bitch". He then released his solo debut album, Savage Life was released in July 4, 2005.
