[edit] About
Alternative rock band We Are Scientists began in 2000 at Claremont, California. The three-man band is composed of Keith Murray (vocals/guitar), Chris Cain (bass) and Michael Tapper (drums). The members were attending at Claremont Universities. Michael Tapper went to Harvey Mudd College while Chris Cain and Keith Murray were in Pomona College. The name is an inside joke to the trio. Story had it that they were applying for a loan and wrote scientists as their occupation.
In 2002, after graduation, We Are Scientists self-released, Safety, Fun and Learning (In That Order). Their debut album, With Love and Squalor, under EMI/Virgin Records was issued in 2006. The album included their lead singles “The Great Escape”, “Nobody Move”, and “Nobody Get Hurt”. In 2006, the band’s third release, Crap Attack, included videos of their previous hits. The single “The Great Escape” gained popularity in the UK. In 2007, We Are Scientists went on an extensive tour. Later that year, the band announced that Michael Tapper is leaving the band. Leaving Murray and Cain, the duo continued their projects releasing the album, “Brain Thrust Mastery, in 200.
