About
Victoria Acosta is a native of San Antonio, Texas who started singing at an early age. When she was six, she enrolled in a mariachi school and grew to love the genre infusing pop into it. She performed at small parties and public places like the zoo with other mariachi groups
At the age of 8, she was awarded with Best Mariachi Music Vocalist in the US and Ford and Lincoln Mercury Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza 2000. Four years later, her parents decided to let her sign a record deal under Covert Entertainment. Trained under the Latin Grammy nominee Manuel Vargas, Acosta was ready to record her debut album. Once Upon a Time was released the same year 2004 where she was dubbed as the "youngest formally trained Mariachi singer to debut as a pop artist".
