Veruca Salt is an American Alternative band who rose to fame via their single, "Seether".

About

Veruca Salt was formed in Chicago and comprised of "Louise Post" and "Nina Gordon". The two were introduced by through their common friend, "Lili Taylor". They were joined by Nina's brother, "Jim Shapiro" and "Steve Lack". After performing to several shows, "Jim Powers" of Minty Fresh Records signed the group a recording contract.


They released their first single, "Seether" in 1994. The single became and MTV hit. After that they had a concert tour with another band called, Hole. They released their first album, American Thighs in 1994, which became gold. They signed a recording contract under Geffen Records. Their second album, Eight Arms To Hold You was released in 1997. It produced the lead single, "Volcano Girls". After the released of their album, Jim left the band and replaced by "Stacy Jones".


Nina left the band in 1998 to pursue a solo career. Louise was the only original member of the band who retained, that's why he recruited new members like, "Stephen Fitzpatrick" on guitar, "Suzanne Sokol" on bass and "Jummy Madla" on drums. They signed a recording contract under Beyond Records. Their album, Resolver was released in 2000. Their latest album, IV was released last 2006.
