Vast was formed in 1998 at Austin, Texas by "Jon Crosby". Jon was only 13 years old when he started to became a professional singer. He wa also tagged as promising guitarist in Guitar Player Magazine. He left school to formed his own band.Their debut album, Visual Audio Sensory Theater was released in 1998 under Elektra Records. The album chartered at #28 on Billboard Heatseekers.


His next album, Music For People was released in September 2000 under Elektra Records. The album chartered at #5 on Billboard Heatseekers. It features the single, "Free". In 2004, his third studio album, Nude was released under SPV Records.


His next album, Turquoise & Crimson was released in 2006 under 2blossoms Recorsd. In October 2007, their latest album, April was issued. It features the single, "Frog".
