Vanessa Hudgens is a young American singer-actress that made her debut in the music industry just in 2006 when she released first album entitled V. She also appeared on youth-oriented Disney movie, High School Musical.

Vanessa Hudgens, also known as Vanessa Anne Hudgens, was born in December 14, 1988 in Salinas, California to parents Greg and Gina who are of Irish-Native American and Filipino descent. She also has a sister, Stella, who also appeared on television; her family is inclined towards musicals and theatres, even her grandparents used to be musicians during their time. She grew up in San Diego, CA where at an early age, she was already performing in a number of local productions and musicals such as Cinderella, Damn Yankees and Evita. After she was accepted in an audition for a commercial stint, she moved to Los Angeles, CA then subsequently moved to England to study drama and music there. As she returned back to L.A in 2004, she scores roles in the movie Thirteen and Thunderbirds which set the fire on her career. She made several TV appearances following her movie stints and made it big when she starred in the Disney made-for-television movie High School Musical. The movie was indeed a big hit, which recieved a number of Teen Choice Awards and scored a 3x Platinum soundtrack release.

After the High School Musical's tremendous success, talented and young Vanessa Hudgens signeda contract with Hollywood Records in June of 2006. She released her equally fresh debut album V with the carrier single "Come Back To Me" in the fall of 2006.

In October to November, 2006 she toured with another Disney Channel sensation, the Cheetah Girls and is part of the three-month tour for the soundtrack album, High School Musical.
