One of the classic singers who remain to be popular up to this day, Van Morrison is a singer and songwriter who play a variety of instruments such as guitar, harmonica, keyboards, drums and saxophone. Considered one of his greatest albums was Moondance.

Van Morrison was born on August 31, 1945 at Belfast, Northern Ireland. His mother was a singer while his father is also a singer. When Van was 15 years old, he dropped out from school and join the local R&B band, The Monarchs. They tour military bases throughout Europe before returning home and formed his own group called Them.
In 1964, they released a single Baby Please Don't Go, which the U.K. Top Ten charts. They released another single, Gloria which is also a big hit. In 1966, Van left the group. He also quit the music industry and returned to his hometown, Belfast. Bert Berns, a one-time producer convinced Van to return to New York and will a record a solo album under Bang Records. He released his single, Brown-Eyed Girl which reached the top 10. However, his first solo album, Blowin' Your Mind was not successful.
In 1968, he signed a recording contract under Warner Bros. He released his album, Astral Weeks and it became a instant hit and one of the greatest records ever made. In 1970, he released his follow up album, Moondance which reached number 29 on the Billboard charts. Over the next few years, Van released several acclaimed albums including his hit singles, Domino which reached number 9 in the US Charts. Van also reformed the band The Celedonia Soul Express. After a brief break in music, he and his band performed in some clubs. Throughout the years, Van remains popular. One of his album which was released in 2005, Magic Time debuted at number 25 on the US Billboard charts.
