Elton John
Hi. Can you please complete Elton John by removing the green sections and remove the it from the Stub category. Thanks! -- Bien 06:48, 27 January 2007 (PST)
- Okay. Still working on this page. There are many info lacking yet. He has so many chart toppers and I have only posted half of them. Thanks! --jodie 23:57, 27 January 2007 (PST)
Did you get an email after I added this in? --Bien 21:07, 14 January 2007 (PST)
*** Yep. Thank you, Bien! --jodie 21:41, 14 January 2007 (PST)
I added a picture to my profile, it isn't too great, but does look mysterious :) carlos 13:16, 13 January 2007 (PST)
*** That is the reason why you are our Featured User for this Week :) --jodie 21:41, 14 January 2007 (PST)
Hi Jodie, nice to meet you and thanks for your welcome message. Yes, I started up yesterday, on a recommendation from the 'Indie Bible', if I remember correctly. Anyway, so at first I thought WMG might be like other html pages/sites, like myspace - which I am familiar with - but then very quickly I discovered that WMG is more of a written/journalistic/academic resource than a publicity/networking point. This is good, as the 'face' of WMG looks more 'mature', if you like, than eg. myspace, and more serious. What I was hoping for (and what is being achieved, I think) is a space where I could leave some writing, and perhaps some graphics, about myself and the context that I work within. I have done similar activities at other sites such as 'artistdirect', 'ubl' and one or two others, with some success. One things for sure, I think WMG is quicker to edit than some other spaces, but at first I found it a little tricky, cos of the new setting that I was dealing with. Eric contacted me because he could see I was in some difficulty, but I managed to scrape my way out of it and leave a page that I was happy with at the end of my session. I'm still not quite sure what some of the boundaries are however, like am I allowed to do external links to other sites, or just within WMG? I'm happy to work within the rules of the game, and I'm sure they're written up somewhere - I probably haven't read the small print - but these are the sorts of issues that concern me at this point. I think I've said quite a lot right now, but wanted to reply to you and let you know how I felt as a 'newbie'! I'm hoping to become more well-known I guess, but as an up-and-coming artist (and writer), I'm glad to be here! Thanks John
