Rihanna blasted with her 2005 hit "Pon de Replay". Now, she is back with Umbrella a combination of the dance floor rhythm and her serious side. The single was premiered on March 29, 2007.

The single Umbrella was performed by the R&B singer Rihanna under her third album Good Girl Gone Bad. The song hit the no.1 slot in several countries like Australian, Austrian Singles, Belgian, U.K. and U.S. The song became the biggest selling track in the iTunes Music Store in the six-year history.

The video was directed by Chris Applebaum. Umbrella featured Rihanna’s boss Jay-Z. The video starts with a shot of Rihanna surrounded by steam. Jay-Z then starts rapping in a black room surrounded by dancers under a rain of sparks. During the chorus, Rihanna dances beautifully like she is fighting against the splashes of water. Some parts of the video is inspired with ballet infused with a sexy moves. Contrast between Rihanna and the background is very strong. The video ends with Rihanna dancing under the rain of sparks.

  • The song Umbrella became the first song by a female singer to rank no.1 on the UK Singles Chart solely on download sales.
