Twista is an American rapper who at one time was known for being the fastest in the world at rap delivery. His claim to fame was with his single "Slow Jamz" from album Kamikaze in 2004.

About
Twista (also known as Tung Twista) was born Carl Terrell Mitchell in real life on November 27, 1973 in the K-Town area on the west side of Chicago. He started rapping at the age of twelve in his locality in K-town. During one of his performances, he was took noticed by a Loud Records representative and immediately signed him a contract. But before pursuing professional career in rapping, Twista holds several other jobs, including working at a factory, selling shoes, telemarketing, working at McDonald's, working as a security guard, and cutting hair.
Unitl on 1991, he released his debut album Runnin' Off at Da Mouth under stage name Tung Twista. His rapid pace of rap delivery earned him a list in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's fastest rapper. The record was broken after a year, he defended making new record, though it would also eventually be broken. Despite his recognition in the list, the album was not as noteable as it expected to be.
Twista has been involved in a lot of controversies for one in his second album, Resurrection which was never released outside of some parts of Chicago. In the album he disses the Treach of Naughty by Nature who had stated that Twista's style was all show and no content. And in 1996, he recorded the track "Po' Pimp" with fellow Chicago act Do or Die for the album Adrenaline Rush. The album gained recognition in midwest. Around this time, he and Do or Die began a bout of diss tracks against Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, who accused Chicago acts of stealing their fast-rapping style.
His reputation in the rap circles has led to work with some other midwestern acts including Roc-A-Fella Records' Kanye West on 2004. West produced 2 tracks for the 2004 album Kamikaze, the "Slow Jamz" and the "Overnight Celebrity". The album and track was Twista's claim to fame.
