Trey Songz is an american contemporary R&B singer and songwriter. His debut album, I Gotta Make It was released last 2005 under Atlantic Records.

About
Born Trey Songz on November 28, 1984 at Petersburg, Virginia to Claude Neverson Jr. and April Tucker. When Trey was a teenager, his mother encouraged him to develop his singing talent by joining singing contest. At the age 0f 16 years old, Trey was able to meet Troy Taylor, a veteran music producer who has worked with artists such as Patti Labelle, Lionel Richie, and Whitney Houston. Troy was impressed when he heard the tenor voice of Trey and they usually go to New York to work on songs and recordings.
After graduating from Petersburg High School, Trey moved to Treareck, New Jersey to worked with Troy. He appeared on Kevin Lyttle debut album.
In 2004, Trey signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records. Ahmet Ertegun, Atlantic Founding Chairman said that Trey is one of the promising stars to ever sign with their company, an heir to the legacy of Atlantic Greats such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding.
Trey also appeared on obie Trice second album. Trey will also appeared on the next album of Young Buck.
His first album I Gotta Make It which was released last 2005 reach number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. Troy is now working on his upcoming album, which will be released in January 2007.
