Trapt is a post grunge and alternative metal band formed on 1995 from Los Gatos California in the United States.

Trapt was formed on 1997 started by four - Chris Brown, Simon Ormandy, Peter Charell and David Stege. When they had just started they recorded two demo albums and started to play in local clubs. Very quickly, they created a good number of fan based and was discovered by Warner Bros. Records.



It was after signing at Warner Bros. where the band started to record their first full length self-titled debut album which was released on late 2002. The album produced three singles "Headstrong", "Still Frame", and "Echo" where all are highly successful in the charts. The album was certified platinum by RIAA.


Their next released was a three track EP on 2004, followed by their second full length album entitled Someone In Control on 2005. Like the first, it produced three singles "Stand Up", "Waiting" , "Disconnected (Out Of Touch)".


Currently the band is recording their third CD in Canada.

  • The band chose their name because they felt trapped by their upper middle-class Bay Area town and privileged upbringing.
  • The band enlisted Robin Diaz to perform drums on the record, and in turn Robin helped the band find their permanent drummer, Aaron Montgomery.
