About

Symphonic rock Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TOS for short) began on 1996 in New York. Paul O’Neill formed the orchestra with friend, Jon Oliva and Robert Kinkel. They produced and wrote their own songs for quiet some time. The trio was having problems to bring emotional impact to their music. They wrote and re-wrote music but later realized that they don’t need words to make a beautiful song. They added a story to portray their song’s emotions more clearly.

Paul decided to write rock operas. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra was unstoppable. They ventured out to different genres like r&b, rock, broadway and classics. TOS brought different musicians and singers to make their songs come to life. They made various holiday albums. The first release was Christmas Eve and Other Stories followed by The Christmas Attic and ppBeethoven’s Last Night[[. The latest release was in 2004, The Lost Christmas Eve.

Reviews

Trans-Siberian Orchestra makes genius hybrid of different genres. They have touches of r&b, rock and gospel in their operas. The band has unlimited inspirations and they don’t create boundaries in writing their music. -Mimi 04:35, 31 January 2008 (PST)
