About
Todd Anthony Shaw, who was better known as Too Short was born on April 28, 1966 at Los Angeles, California but raised in Oakland when their family moved there when he was only 14 years old.
Todd used to sell tapes out of the back of his car. After that, he was discovered by one of the owners of 75 girls Records. He released his first album in 1983. Three albums followed at the same recording outfit. After his last album under 75 Girls, Too Short formed his own recording company, which he called Dangerous Music Label.
In 1986, he recorded his album, Born To Mack which sold more than 50,000 copies just by riding around the region. Jive Records heard about the huge sale of his single and provided a recording contract with him. Too Short's album went gold and its follow up went platinum in 1989.
In 1996, Too Short decided to retire after releasing five successful albums. However, he returned at the music scene three years later, which he released his single, "Can't Stop Away" who went gold and reached the Billboard charts top 10.
