[edit] About
[edit] Early Life
Rapper Tony Yayo (Marvin Bernard) was born on March 31, 1978 in Queens, New York. His big break came when he signed in with a small record label called First Choice. He was a good friend of 50 Cent. When 50 signed with Columbia records he took Yayo under his wing. 50 became Yoyo’s mentor.
[edit] Early Career
In 2002, Yayo and 50 Cent were both arrested for weapon-possession charges. In 2003, he sentenced to do time at the beginning of 2003 for bail-jumping. When Yayo was in jail, 50 Cent and G-Unit became popular. They wore shirts that said “Free Yayo” but Yayo was unaware of all these. It was during the Grammy Award that Yayo saw the t-shirt worn by Eminem. The rapper was inspired to start writing again. In 2004, Yayo was a free man but was back in jail once again for giving his parole officer a fake passport. After a few weeks, he was out again and finally started on his debut album, Thoughts Of A Predicate Felon, which was released on August 30, 2005.
