The song has a resembling tune of Justin Timberlake single "Sexyback". There is a remix version of the “The Way I Are” done by Nephew, a Danish band.

Music Video
The video is directed by Shane Drake and was shot in Greater Manchester, UK. Sebastian, Timbaland’s brother was included in the video too. Three English football players are seen in the video. The lights in the video gives a feel that they are in the club jammin’ and dancing.
Trivia
- The song was used in the 2007 McDonald's commercial wherein the viewer sees it at the beginning where a DJ loading the "The Way I Are" singles record onto a turntable.

Reviews
The Way I Are has beautiful use of lighting. Instead of the usual r&b videos, they made the tunnel feel like they were in the club. They also added an extra something like the soccer players which made the video different from the others. -Mimi 011:30, 30 September 2007 (PST)
