Jakob Dylan was born on 1970 and grew up in Los Angeles with his mother, after his parents divorce in 1977. He attended private schools in Los Angeles and New York. He formed The Wallflowers.
The Wallflowers are formed on 1992 in Los Angeles, California. They were original composed of Jakob Dylan on vocalist and guitar; Barrie Maguire on bass and background vocalist; Peter Yanowitz on drums; Rami Jaffee on keyboards and Tobi Miller on guitar. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1992 under Virgin Records label.
Their 1997 released album, Bringing Down The Horse was a huge success. They produce a hit singles from this album which are "6th Avenue Heartache", "One Headlight" and "The Difference". The band has also won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Song for One Headlight in 1998. The band has released several follow-up hit albums and concert tours.
In 2006, much to the dismay of their fans, they did not have a concert tour then they parted ways with their recording company, Interscope. Jakob Dylan had begun writing and recording solo songs.
