The album was released on Septembee 1977 under Columbia Records. It debuted at #2 on the US Albums Chart and it remains his best-selling studio album up to this time. The album features his signatatory Award winning single, "Just the Way You Are" which chartered at #1 on the U.S. Adult Contempory Singles Chart and #3 on the US Pop Singles Chart. It also features other hit single like, "She's Always a Woman" which landed at #2 on the US Adult Contemporary Singles Chart.
