The Sickness is the debut album of the heavy metal band Disturbed.

After plying around the music circuits of Chicago, amassing a cult following in the process, the heady metal band Disturbed released two demo tapes, one accused of being a fluke, the next made to prove those rumors wrong. The demos caught the attention of several music indutry players and in March of 2000, Disturbed signed up with Giant Records to release their debut album, The Sickness.

  • Songs from the album were used in horror movies like "Queen of the Damned," "Dawn of the Dead," and "Dracula 2000"
  • Lounge singer and parody artist Richard Cheese played his rendition of the song "Down With The Sickness" on his second album, Tuxicity. The track was later remastered for his 5th album, Sunny Side of the Moon.
