The Raconteurs are a Grammy nominated rock band who rose to fame via their debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers.

About

The Raconteurs or "The Saboteurs" in Australia was formed by "Jack White" and "Brendan Benson" of The White Stripes with "Patrick Keeler" on drums and "Jack Lawrence" as the groups rhythm section. The band was created when Jack and Brendan wrote a song entitled, "Steady As She Goes" and sooner recruited the other two members.


The group's first single, "Steady As She Goes" was released in 2006. Their debut album, Broken Boy Soldiers was released in May 2006. The album chartered at #2 at the UK Charts and #7 at the US Charts. The band is currently recording songs for their next album and plan to release it in 2008.

  • The Raconteurs were forced to rename themselves as "The Saboteurs" for the Australian market when it was discovered that a Queensland band was already using the name Raconteurs.
