The Neptunes are an American duo and a hottest producers within the rap and pop industry. They are the most demanded producers in the music world. They had produced some albums of a well-know musical stars such as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Nelly. They had also released their debut album The Neptunes...Present Clones in 2003.

The Neptunes are formed at Virginia Beach, Virginia USA on 1994. It is composed of duo named Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo. The two of them belong to different schools. When they were 12 years old, both of them are going to jazz workshop where Pharell was a drummer while Chad is playing saxophone. They also joined a marching band.

In 1990, Pharell and Chad formed a group with their friends Shay and Mike Etheridge, which they called, The Neptunes. When they are about to join a local talent contest, they were seen by 'Teddy Riley who owns a studio near Pharell's school. After graduating from high school, they signed a management contract under Teddy.

In 1994, Pharell and Chad formed a production duo under the name The Neptunes. They produced the album, Tonight's The Night of BLACKstreet where Teddy is one of the members. The two help Kelis to launch his careers. They also produced the albums of Clipse, Vanessa Marquez and Justin Timberlake. The also re-launch the careers of Snoop Dogg, ODB, Robin Thicke and Mystikal.

In 2001, The Neptunes produced the single of Britney Spears, I'm A Slave 4 U which reached number 1 at billboard charts. They also produced a single for Nelly, Hot in Here which also reached the number one spot at Billboard Charts. The duo was named as the Producers of The Year by The Source Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

In 2003, The Neptunes released their debut album, The Neptunes Present...Clones which reached the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.
