The Inspiration was released on December 12, 2006 under Def Jam records. The album ranked no.1 on the U.S. Billboard chart and on the U.S. R&B chart. The first single "I Luv It" was produced by DJ Toomp. The single reached no.7 on the U.S. Hot Rap Tracks chart. Another single "Go Getta" featuring R. Kelly hit no.4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Rap Tracks. The album sold 352,000 copies.
