The Id is second album by Macy Gray. It was produced by by Rick Rubin and features collaborations with John Fruciante, Erykah Badu, Slick Rick and Angie Stone. The Id is a fusion of gospel, hip hop, soul and R&B.

The Id was released on September 18, 2001 under Epic Records. The Id became an album failure. The first track, "Sweet Baby" featuring Erkyah Badu, which was in the top 40, mostly because it sounds like "I Try" and "Don't Come Around", featuring Sunshine Anderson, a track about trying to be friends after a relationship goes bust. Low points include the Disco Duck delivery of "Sexual Revolution" and the circus meets Broadway show of the special track, "Oblivion". The album reached #1 in U.K. 500,000 albums were sold in U.S. and it was considered Certified Gold in U.K.
