About

The Everly Brothers are Don Everly (born as Isaac Donald Everly on February, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky)and Phil Everly (born as Philip Everly on January 19, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois). The siblings are born to parents Margaret Embry and Isaac Ike ilford Everly, Jr., who they theselves are country musicians.

The brothers gre up in Iowa where they were trained at a very young age. Since music talent runs in the family, The Everly Brothers never had a hard time during their training that they even became professional singers when they're still young. They sing with their parents on radio broadcats and some small live performances in local shows.

The brothers decided to record their first single Keep A' Lovin' Me in mid-50's but unfortunately it flopped. The following year, they returned with a new single invested by Don Everly and this time it was a commercial success. Bye, Bye Love charted at number 2 n the Pop Charts while it reached the top spot of Country and R&B Charts. Though the single was rejected by several acts including the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, it became the siblings first million-seller. This became the start of The Everly Brothers string of successful singles including: Wake Up Little Susie, Bird Dog, All I Have To Do is Dream, When Will I Be Loved and Til I Kissed You.

Their hits continued even after they signed to a new label, Warner Brothers Records in 1960 which includes Cathy's Clown, Crying in the Rain and The Ferris Wheel.

By the end of 1962, The Everly Brothers domination are starting to slow down, selling fewer and fewer records as time pass by. Though their success became moderate in the US, they managed to maintain success internationally primarily in the United Kingdom and Canada.

By 1973, The Everly Brothers decided to call it quits. They began to pursue their own careers in their own separate ways. Phil Everly has released an album which he recorded in London. Spawning hits such as Louise and She Means Nothing To Me (shared lead vocals with fellow musician, Cliff Richards) in 1983. That same year, The Everly Brothers reunited after a decade and returned with a new album. The single On The Wings of a Nightingale written for them by Sir Paul McCartney was a hit. Since then, The Everly Brotehrs never released a follow-up album but they continued to perform occasionally. Their most recent was in 2004 when they are they featured act for Simon & Garfunkel's reunion tour.

The Everly Brothers' legacy continues to live on and their influence are reflected from the artist of the modern day era.
