The Eagles was formed in 1971 in Los Angeles, California by, "Glenn Frey", "Bernie Leadon", and "Randy Meisner". Their self-titled debut album was released in June 1972 under Asylum Records. The album chartered at #22 on Billboard Pop Albums Chart. It features the singles, "Take It Easy" which landed at #12 on Billboard Pop Singles Chart and "Witchy Woman" which chartered at #9 on Billboard Pop Singles Chart. The album was certifed Platinum by RIAA in 1973.
Their next album, Desperado was issued on April 1973 under Asylum Records. The album chartered #41 on Billboard Pop Albums Chart and features the singles, "Outlaw Man" which landed at #59 on Billboard Pop Singles Chart and "Tequila Sunrise" which chartered at #64 on Billboard Pop Singles Chart. The album was a certified Platinum by RIAA on 1973. Their next album, On The Boarder was released on March 1974 under Asylum Records. The album landed at #17 on Billboard Pop Albums Chart and features the singles, "James Dean" which landed at #1 on Pop Singles and #1 on Adult Contemporary.
In December 1976, the groups phenomenal album, Hotel California was released under Asylum Records.The album chartered at #1 for eight weeks on Billboard 200 Albums Chart and #10 on Coutry Albums Chart. It features the singles, "New Kid in Town" which landed at #2 on Adult Contemporary Chart, #43 on Country Singles and #1 on Pop Singles, and "Hotel California" which landed at #1 on Pop Singles. It also won two Grammy Awards as Record of The Year for the single "Hotel California" and Best Arrangement for Voices for "New Kid in Town". The album is a Certified 16x Multi-Platinum by RIAA Certification.
Their next album, The Long Run was released in September 1979. The album chartered at #1 on Pop Albums Chart and features the singles, "i Can't Tell You Why" which landed at #3 on Adult Contemporary and #8 on Pop Singles. After the released of their album, the band was disbanded to pursue the solo careers of the members.
After fourteen years of separation, they reunited in 1994. They went on a Country Tours and in 2007, their latest album, Long Road Out of Eden was released. The album featueres the single, "Busy Being Fabulous" which chartered at #28 on Billboard Hot Country Songs and #13 on Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks. The album is a Certified 7xMuli-Platinum by RIAA Certification. The band is currently on tour.
