The Divine Comedy is a Punk Band. They spawned several hit singles and albums including their hit album, Cassanova.

The Divine Comedy was formed in 1989 in Northern Ireland by, "Neil Hannon" with "John McCullagh" and "Kevin Traynor". Their debut album, Fanfare for the Comic Muse was released in 1992 under Setanta Records. "John Allen" was added in their line up in that same year. In 1993, Liberation was released. Their next album, Promenade was released in 1994 under Setanta Records. The album spawned the hit single, "The Summerhouse". Their album, Cassanova was released in 1997. The album produces the hit singles, "Becoming More Like Alfie" which landed at #27 on The UK Singles Chart and "The Frog Princess" which chartered at #15 on The UK Singles Chart. In 1997, A Short Album Love was issued. Fin De Siecle was issued in 1998 and features the singles, "Generation Sex" which chartered at #15 on the UK SIngles Chart and "National Express" which landed at #8 on The UK Singles Chart. Regeneration was released in 2001 and Absent Friends in 2004. Their latest album, Victoru For The Comic Muse was released in 2006.
