[edit] About
English rock band, The Darkness, formed in 1991 in Lowestoft, Suffolk. While attending Kirkley High School, Justin Hawkins (vocals, guitar) along with brother Dan Hawkins (vocals, guitar) reunited with childhood friends (Frankie Poullain (vocals, bass) and Ed Grahan (percussion, drums) thus, The Darkness began. The band started their first two years playing at local pubs. The Darkness popularity spread through word of mouth all through out London.
In 2002, The Darkness released their debut EP, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, under Must Destroy Music. It was an instant hit winning them a slot to open Def Leppard and Deep Purple. They also played at the Austin’s SXSW music convention during the new year. The Darkness released “Keep Your Hands Off My Woman” the following month which entered the charts, gaining them a contract with Atlantic Records in March.

In 2005, the Darkness went on an extensive tour and went back to the studios to work on their follow-up album, One Way Ticket To Hell… and Back.
