The Cover Girls are R&B Girls Group which became phenomenal group in the late 80's and early 90's. One of their hit album is Show Me.

About

The Cover Girls were formed in 1986 by "Sal Abbatiello". After 300 females who auditioned for the group, Only three were chosen namely, "Louise Sabater", "Sunshine Wright" and "Caroline Jackson". Their first single, "Show Me" was released in 1987 which became hit. It chartered at #4 on the U.S. Dance Chart and sold over 500,000 records. In that same year, they released their same titled debut album which sold over 1 million units. It also features the hit singles, "Because of You", which landed at #16 on the US Dance Chart, "Inside Outside" which chartered at #12 on the US Dance Charts and "Spring Love". This was the first independently released album to chart 5 singles on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart from the same album.


After the album they became a phenomenal group not only in the US but in any other countries. In 1989, they signed a recording contract under Capital Records and released their next album, We Can't Go Wrong. It features the singles, "We Can't Go Wrong" which chartered #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and #2 on the R&R CHR Chart, and "All That Glitters Isn't Gold" which peaked at #18 on the US Dance Charts. The single sold over 500,000 copies in US alone.


The group also appeared in several commercials. In 1990, "Evelyn Escalera" joined the group as their new lead singer. In 1991, they issued their next single, "Funk Boutique" which landed at #5 on the US Dance Chart and #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Their next album, Here it Is was released in 1992 under Epic Records. It features the single, "Wishing on A Star" which debuted at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and #2 on the R&R Charts. In 1996, they released their last album, Satisfy before they decided to separate.
