One of the popular band in the late 70's along with The Sex Pistols was The Circle Jerks. They released several album and included in that album is, Group Sex.

The Circle Jerks was formed in 1979 by former Black Flag lead vocalist, "Keith Morris" and former Red Kross lead guitarist, "Greg Hetson" with "Roger Rogerson" on bass and "Lucky Lehrer" on drum. Their first album, Group Sex was released in 1980 under Frontier Records. They signed a recording contract under, IRS Records in 1981. In that same year, they issue their next album, Wild in The Streets.


Their third album, Golden Shower of Hits was released in 1983 under Allegiance Records. It features the single, "Coup D'Etat". Roger and Lucky left the band after the released of their album. "Zander Schloss" and "Keith Clark" replaced the two. In 1985, their next album, Wonderful was released under Combat Records. In 1987, their album, VI was released. "Chris Poland" was added in the group after he was kick out from the band, Megadeth. Zander left the band. In 1989, the group was disbanded after Greg has left the band to pursue his career with another band. Wonderful era lineup reunited in 1994. They signed a recording contract under Mercury Records. The group has announced that they are still looking for a good project for their new album.

  • The song"Coup D'Etat", was used in the soundtrack of Alex Cox's early film Repo Man.
  • "Wild in the Streets" was used in the videogame Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. The song was also featured on the MTV television show "Jackass" during a skit.
