About

Perhaps her most successful album ever, The Breakthrough contains cuts which are to be expected from Mary J. Blige.

The cameos alone by big stars like Bono in “One”, Jay-Z in “Can’t Hide From Luv” and Raphael Saadiq in “I Found My Everything” could very well get this record the exposure and profit, but add to these the singing of Mary J. Blige and ones gets a great package. In "MJB Da MVP," Blige uses the beat from the Game/50 Cent single “Hate It or Love It” where she sings bits and pieces of her greatest hits, while in “No One Will Do” and “Be Without You,” the recently wed artist sings of love. Of course, there’s “Baggage,” where Blige professes her difficult past and how she and her husband deals with it.

There’s a lot of maturity and positivistic perspective in the 16 tracks which are included in this release. This is truly another breakthrough from Mary J. Blige.
