The Boy Is Mine is the second album by American R&B singer Monica. The featured production of the album was that of Rodney Jerkins, Jermaine Dupri and Dallas Austin of the same titled track single "The Boy Is Mine", a duet with Brandy where Monica came to fame. Other singles include, "The First Night", "Angel of Mine", "Street Symphony" and "For You I Will" which was included in the "Space Jam" soundtrack.

The album was released in the United States on July 14, 2006 by Arista Records. Unlike in her previous album wher was still an inexperienced vocalist whose raw talent was evident, in this album, Monica was given more room to strut her own stuff in which she did not failed to give where the single "The Boy Is Mine" won a Grammy Award for the record of the year for a group with Brandy. The album also garnered several nominations on the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards and Soul Train Awards.

Without doubts from listeners, the album eventually peaked at number 2 in the Billboard Top R&B Albums and peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Top 200 albums on 1998. And on the same year, the album was certified 3x Platinum by RIAA.
