The Bang is an Indie pop band. The band members are Joshua Gregg (vocals/guitar/mandolin/kazoo) and Barry Sherman (backing vocals/ bass), Brad Kallebach and Glad de Combes.

Indie pop band, The Bang, began at Johannesburg, South Africa in 1999. The mastermind behind The Bang were Joshua Gregg (vocals/guitar/mandolin/kazoo) and Barry Sherman (backing vocals/ bass). They were later on joined by Brad Kallebach (backing vocals/guitar/mandolin), Glad de Combes (backing vocals/keyboard/accordion/melodic/harmonica), and Stefan Lawrence (percussion/drums). In 2003, The Bang signed with Chameleon Records thanks to producer, Adrian Levi, who heard the band’s EP, Of Engines and Earthworms, and was very much impressed. In 2005, The Bang issued their debut album, Shiny.
