About
“Barbara Allbut”, “Phyllis Allbut” and “Linda Jansen” formed the Angels in 1961. Their single, "Till" was released on that same year under Caprice Records. When Linda left the band, “Peggy Santiglia”, a former member of The Delicates, replaced her.
They signed a recording contract under "Mercury Records" in 1963. They released their hit single, "My Boyfriend's Back". The single chartered at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. They released other hit singles, "Lightning Strikes" and "Rhapsody in The Rain". They disbanded in 1967 but regrouped in the early 70's with Phyllis, Barbara and Peggy and continued to release singles.
