John Theodore "Teddy" Geiger II was born on September 16, 1988 in Buffalo, New York and lived most of his life in Rochester. He began playing with the piano at the tender age of 6. Then moving on to guitars at the age of 8.

Though a self-taught musician, he began writing his own songs at the age of 16. His lyrical talent is more reminiscent of school pop. Geiger's musical sophistication is within the levels of John Mayer and Chris Martin.
By the time he was a teenage, he was playing local venues, starting at coffee shops, then moving onto gigs at clubs in Upstate New York. His fans would flock to see him and his faithful have taken on the name of “Tedheads.”
He released a six song EP entitled Step Ladder in early 2005. The EP made it to the top ten on Billboard’s Top Hitseekers Chart. Hit musical talent was closely compared to John Mayer, but he insists he has his own style that is distinct from other artists.
Teddy was discovered after he joined the VH1 show "In Search of the New Partridge Family". There, he caught the eye of legendary producer Billy Mann (Sting, Pink, Ashlee Simpson) and he produced Teddy's hit album Underage Thinking. Teddy's was so talented that Billy had to sign him up. Columbia Records was impressed and released his debut album under their label.
With the release of his first single For You I Will (Confidence), Geiger shot straight to superstardom. He began to have a larger fan base and by then was touring all across America, even opening a show for Hilary Duff in her Still Most Wanted Tour. His sweet, romantic lyrics and mellow music won the hearts of every teenage girl in the world.

He may be young, but he is packed with all the prolific words and creative music that not everyone knew about. He might be compared to many artists, by Geiger's music is far different and more into his own idealistic sense of style.
