It was the first song by Rihanna that peaked at number 1 on BET's 106 & Park. The song became the no.1 spot in several countries including Canada, Ireland, Denmark, United Kingdon and in U.S.

Take A Bow opens with Rihanna standing in a dark room wearing all black looking tough. His boyfriend is ringing the doorbell trying to talk to her. He stays all night outside his house but Rihanna goes to the garage and drives away wearing a red leather jacket with red lipstick looking powerful and intimidating. He tries to run after her, trying to explain what he did but she just keeps on driving and ignores him. Rihanna arrived at the man's home and burns his clothes.
