TV On The Radio is an American band that started in 2001 at Brooklyn New York. The band gained popularity on their debut album Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes and is currently signed with 4AD Records.

About
Tv on the Radio aka TVotR started in 2001 at Brooklyn, New York. The band consist of Tunde Adebimpe (vocals/loops), Kyp Malone (vocals/guitar/loops), David Andrew Sitek (guitar/keyboard/loops), Gerard Smith (bass/keyboard) and Jaleel Bunton (drums). Adebimpe is a film major who graduated from NYU while Sitek is an artist. When Sitek moved in Adebimpe’s building, they realized that their music would be great together. Thee two recorded a 24-track self titled album. Sitek had a brief hiatus from the band but came back for the EP, Touch and Go. They later on added the rest of the line-up.
In 2004, TVotR released their full-length debut, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. The following year was booked with tours along with the Faint and the Pixies. The band signed in 4AD Records in Europe and Interscope Records in the US. In 2006, Tv on the Radio issued their follow-up album, Return to Cookie Mountain followed by Dear Science in 2008.
