TQ is one of the hip-hop rapper from Alabama. He was also a former lead singer in a group called Coming of Age. His music is the combination of hard-core and hip-hop.

Early Life
R&B singer TQ (Terrance Quaites) was born on May 24, 1976 in Mobile, Alabama. His family moved to Compton, California. TQ’s family was a active in church and young TQ joined the choir. Hip hop was introduced to him in the streets. He was always at parties and into girls but during Sunday his family would go to church where his voice developed. When TQ was 16 years old, his mother found a gun in his room and sent him to his aunt in Atlanta.
Early Career
In 1993, TQ became the front man of group named Coming of Age. The hit single “Coming Home To Love” entered the Top 40 R&B Charts. TQ wanted to start his solo career and left the group. He got a contract with Atlantic Records but no album was released. In 1998, TQ released his solo-debut album, They Never Saw Me Coming, with a controversial lyrical content. He knew that it would start a controversy but pursued it anyway because he wanted to express his freedom of expression. In 2000, TQ’s sophomore album, The Second Coming, was issued followed by Listen… in 2004.
