About
T. Rex were founded in 1967 by "Marc Bolan" at London. The band was originally known as "Tyrannosaurus Rex". The band were originally composed of "Steve Peregrin Took", "Gene Vincent", and "Eddie Cochran". They released their debut album, My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair...But Now They're Content To Wear Stars in 1968. In 1969, Marc and Steve had a quarrel. Marc fired out Steve and replace him to "Mickey Finn". They released their album, A Beard of Stars, their final album as "Tyrannosaurus Rex".
In 1970, they changed their name to T. Rex and releaased also their self-titled studio album. It features the singles, "Ride A White Swan" which chartered at #2 in the UK Chart and "Hot Love" which became #1 on the UK Charts and remained being #1 for six sweeks. Their next album, Electric Warrior was released in 1971. In that same year, "Steve Currie" and "Bill Legend" were added in the band. The album features the singles, "Get it On" which peaked at #1 on the British Charts and "Rock and Roll". In 1972, they released their next album, The Slider. It chartered at #4 on US Albums Chart.
In 1976, their next album, Futuristic Dragon was released. It issued the singles, "New York City" and "Dreamy Lady". The band released more singles, "I Love To Boogie" which landed at #13 on US Singles Chart and "Laser Love". Both were included in their album, Dandy in The Underworld which was released in 1977. Marc died in September 1977 due to car accident. After he died, the band was disbanded. The band was reformed in 1997 by "Mickey Finn" and "Paul Fenton", who were formerly member of the original band.
