[edit] About

The album System of a Down was released on June 30, 1998 by American Records. In this album Daron Malakian barely sang so Serj Tankian did most of the vocals. His voice combines with some of the most brutal, but still melodic, riffs that Daron puts out to create System of a Down's heaviest album.

The album was certified gold by the RIAA on early 2000. And two years after, it was certified platinum after the success of Toxicity.

Two years later, after the success of Toxicity, it was certified platinum.
