About

U.K pop trio, Sugababes were formed in 1998. Siobhan Donaghy, Keisha Buchanan, and Mutya Buena shared the same passion such as hip-hop, and dance music. Buchanan and Buena were friends since primary school then met Donaghy the trio was inseperable ever since. Sugababes were just a group of friend who enjoyed singing along to the radio. They didn't have plans to join the music industry. In 2000, they were given a contract with London records. They recorded tracks that were co-written by the trio. They released their debut album One Touch. The single "Overload" was a hit but the sales of the following three singles ("New Year", "Run For Cover", "Soul Sound") didn't reach their expectations and the band were dropped. With Donaghy also dropping out of the band in 2001.

In 2001, Donaghy was replaced by Atomic Kitten's Heidi Range. They released their second album Angels With Dirty Faces, under Island Records. The singles, "Freak Like Me" and "Round Round", peaked at #1 on the U.K. Chart, with a further two releases from the album - "Angels With Dirty Faces/Stronger" and "Shape". In 2003, the trio's third album, Three, reached #3 on the U.K. Album Chart. The single "Hole in the Head" reached #1 on the U.S. Dance and U.K. Three more top 10 singles came from the album, "Too Lost In You", "In The Middle" and "Caught In A Moment". Two years later, a fourth album was released, Taller In More Ways which produced Push The Button, the bands fourth number 1. Shortly after the release of "Ugly", Buena left the group and the album went Platinum. Amelle Berrabah replaced Buena and the band re-released Taller In More Ways and released two more singles from the album, "Red Dress" and "Follow Me Home". Then followed a greatest hits collection, which included the top 10 hit "Easy". The group achieved their fifth number 1 single in 2007 with the charity single "Walk This Way". Later in 2007 the band released their first full album with Amelle, titled "Change". The album's lead single "About You Now" was number 1 for 4 weeks, becoming the girls most succesful single to date and there sixth number one overall. The album produced 2 more singles, "Change" and "Denial".

The girls sixth album "Catfights and Spotlights" was released on 20 October 2008. The lead single Girls charted at number 3 in the UK charts on 12 October. The second single "No Can Do" charted at #23, thus, after only 2 singles, the Sugababes ended this era.

The Sugababes seventh studio album, titled "Sweet 7" was due to be released 23 November 2009, however it is has been pushed back to March 8, 2010. The first single from the album, "Get Sexy" was released on 31 August 2009 and charted at #2, making it their highest chart position in 2 years. A second single, titled "About A Girl" was released 9 November 2009 as the first single with member Jade Ewen. The single went on to peak at #8, giving the girls their seventeenth top ten single. The third single from the album, "Wear My Kiss" preceeded the album by three weeks, with a release date of 22 February 2010, followed by the album released 15 March, 2010. Wear My Kiss charted at #7 and Sweet 7, the Sugababes seventh album, charted at #14, making it the Sugababes' lowest charting album since their debut "One Touch".

Work has now begun on the group's eighth studio album, expected to have a 2011 release.
