About
Story Of The Year began in 1995 at St. Louis, Missouri. They were formly known as Big Blue Monkey with the line-up: Dan Marsala (vocals) Ryan Phillips (guitar), Phillip Sneed (guitar), Adam Russell (bass), Josh Wills (drums). It all started with two guy, John and Perry. Marsala was the drummer and Philips was on guitar. After graduation, the two decided to part ways from Big Blue Monkey and start their own band but they decided to stick with them but just change the instruments that they would play. They had extensive practices that it would run until midnight. The boys placed all their efforts to the band and raised money to record their own materials. Big Blue Monkeys moved to California for bigger oppurtunities. In the span of weeks staying in California they were offered to tour with Goldfinger. During the tour they decided to changed their name to Story of the Year. In 2002, the band released their self-titled debut album. Goldfinger's John Feldmen (vocalist) wanted to produce the band's debut. During their break from tour, Feldmen presented Story of the Year's video to Maverick Record and quickly signed them in.
After the extensive tour, Story Of The Year concentrated on recording their album. While recording, there were disagreements and Gregory decided to leave the band. They auditioned for potential guitarist for several weeks. Sneed from the band Maybe Today took Gregory's position. They wrote a number of songs in just two weeks and recorded 10 singles for the album. It finally came out in 2003 named Page Avenue. After the release, they went on an extensive tour to promote the album. Page Avenue hit the gold status in just six months after its release.

Reviews
- Story Of The Year is clearly influenced by the sounds of John Feldmen. On the other hand, they have great arrangements of their instruments. Marsala's voice blend in beautiful in the rhythm of their tracks. The have an unbelievable executions of their singles. Mimi 12:00, 30 April 2008 (PST)
