Start Static was released on August, 21, 2001 under Ultimatum records. The album hit no.194 on the U.S. Chart. The first single "Bouncing Off the Walls" reached no.40 on the Modern Rock Tracks. The second single "Pretty Girl (The Way)" reached no.30 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. While making this album Ben Davis left the band Sugarcult to seek help for his alcoholism.
